How much does it cost to build an app?

I am often asked for a “rough estimate” of how much apps will cost to build. Here are some basic categories that can help you plan and understand what level of investment your project will require.

I use the example of home construction as a metaphor here, to give you a relatable example, as well as an example of a similar project we’ve developed, for a tactical one. The home-building metaphor will make more sense in the context of our guide to app development (download here).

I hope the following four categories will help you determine the size of your project, the estimated cost, and the level of professionals you may want to hire to assist you.
