Google's #WeArePlay Campaign Showcases Pumpspotting

The Breast Express, AKA Barb

Amy and Barb

Amy and her kids, Max and Emma

As a marketing agency owner and mother of two, Amy knows firsthand the challenges of balancing work and parenting. It was during a particularly frustrating moment – trying to use a breast pump in an airport restroom – that the idea for Pumpspotting was born.

Pumpspotting is an app that helps mothers find places to pump or nurse, provides access to lactation consultants, and offers a supportive community of mothers for connection and support. It's a game-changer for breastfeeding moms, and we love seeing it get well-deserved recognition.

Amy and pumpspotting were featured in Google’s #WeArePlay campaign, a book and website that features the stories and founders behind best-in-class products on the Google Play platform.

We may be biased, but we think Amy and pumpspotting were an excellent choice for this Google feature. Amy not only built from a personal need, but she has spent years learning about others’ needs and continuing to refine the product. Among more traditional methods of user research, she bought a 40-ft RV and turned it into a nursing suite, living on it for months while traveling across the country. In Amy’s words, “It was a literal vehicle to unite parents and introduce them to the app.”

We're excited to see what the future holds for Pumpspotting and the impact it will continue to have on parents. Congratulations to Amy and the Pumpspotting team on this well-deserved recognition!
